MidCap Business Credit is a commercial finance company which provides fully secured working capital loans between $2 and $8 million. The business had historically been funded by a hedge fund which was having redemption issues having gated redemptions resulting in the hedge funds decision to sell their interest in the holding and outstanding portfolio. CRP closed this transaction at a unique time in the market, the middle of the “Great Financial Crisis”.  CRP was able to develop significant interest in the transaction resulting in a premium being paid for the holding company and all portfolio loans being acquired at par. The acquirer a few years after the purchase formed a mezzanine & junior capital finance company which operates in conjunction with MidCap.
